Staff Structure
GMA's functional departments continue to provide the leadership, services and support that promote and defend the interests of America's grocery manufacturers. GMA employs more than 50 staff in the following areas:

  • Industry Affairs — works to foster industry productivity, joint industry cooperation and the effective use of new technologies to ensure that the grocery products industry remains a respected leader in the American economy.

  • Government Affairs — seeks to ensure that legislation and public policies reflect the needs and interests of member companies on issues such as labeling and advertising, food safety, international trade issues, taxes, solid waste, and the environment.

  • Scientific & Regulatory Policy — provides information and guidance on scientific and regulatory issues affecting the industry, from nutritional labeling to pesticide residues.

  • Communications — actively promotes GMA programs and positions to key media and distributes internal information vital to members’ understanding of ongoing issues.

  • Member Relations/Organizational Development — facilitates open communications among GMA member companies and encourages member participation in GMA programs and activities.
